JOSEPH PACE HISTORICAL MONSTRANCE RESTAURATION
BASILICA OF SAN LORENZO IN LUCINA IN ROME

Many of the Joseph Pace’s decorated materials
used in the restoration of the Basilica of Santo Stefano in Lucina monstrance
were inspired by Byzantine architecture

After the Pace’s exhibition at the Basilica of Santo Stefano in Lucina in Rome, the Chapter of the Basilica has decided to entrust to the artist the restoration of the historical display of the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Lucina

The restoration work lasted about two months. All made with found and industrial primarily vintage recycled bijoux, that the artist collected worldwide, Joseph Pace intends to draw attention to the values of faith and spirituality, according to the artist, the last bastions of human freedom. Joseph Pace is one of the the leading exponents of “filtranisme”, the philosophical and artistic neo existentialist current that he founded in Paris in the mid 80s. His work is part of an artistic and intellectual path through which the artist reinterprets our deepest psychic realities.
